FAA applauds Heritage Malta temple rescue - 23.05.09

The fate of lesser known prehistoric temples at Mgarr, not far from the Skorba Temples, is looking more positive ever since a move by Heritage Malta to buy up surrounding unbuilt land. This site was granted a permit to build structures that would visually encroach on the temples.

Statement by NGOs in relation to Delimara Power Station - 23.05.09

In view of recent statements that have appeared in the local media on the future installation of power turbines at the Delimara Power Station, the environment NGOs  Flimkien ghal Ambjent Ahjar, Friends of the Earth Malta, The Gaia Foundation, and the Ramblers’ Association, without going into the merits of who should be awarded a public tender, have called upon the Government to abide by its pledges to ensure that all future power generation is as clean as possible.

MEPA and Polidano cooperate…again! - 24.04.09 

Flimkien ghal Ambjent Ahjar deplores yesterday's decision by MEPA to allow ADT incorporate Polidano Brothers' plans for garages into the reconstructed St. Paul's Bay bypass, just in case Polidano Brothers are granted a permit for such works. This is taking place in spite of the fact that Polidano Brothers' unauthorised building activity in the area had caused the collapse of part of the hillside and the St. Paul's Bay bypass almost a decade ago, very nearly swallowing a neighbour's residence which subsequently had to be demolished.

Unregulated proliferation of mobile antennae - 24.04.09  

Following the recent European Parliament's overwhelming majority vote to shake-up regulations governing mobile base stations and other sources of electromagnetic frequencies, Flimkien ghal Ambjent Ahjar (FAA) suggests that it is  now  time for government, in collaboration with the local mobile operators, to take appropriate action and correct the current unchecked proliferation of these potentially-dangerous EM sources.
